Thailand is set to launch its fresh longan produce in July, with an anticipated 3-4% increase in production compared to last year, reaching approximately 300,000 tons from July to August. The total longan production in the northern provinces has seen a 14% increase, totaling 1,072,564 tons. Thailand's longan exports, valued at over 30 billion baht last year, are primarily exported to China, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with China being the largest market. The country is taking steps to ensure continued export to China by enhancing epidemic prevention, improving longan quality, and addressing pest issues, particularly mealybugs, which China prioritizes.
