Germany's berry harvest in 2023 saw a slight decrease of 3.7% to 41,400 tons, with the cultivated area also shrinking by 0.6% to 9290 hectares. Despite this, the harvest aligns with the six-year average. Blueberries were the most cultivated, making up 37% of the total berry cultivation area. Other significant harvests included red and white currants, raspberries, and blackcurrants. Greenhouses and protective covers contributed to 15% of the berry crop, with raspberries dominating this area. Organic production made up 12% of the total harvest, with chokeberry being the most significant species in organic farming.
