(Uijeongbu=Yonhap News) Reporter Woo Young-sik = Gyeonggi Province, along with the Korea Forest Service and the city of Gwangju, Gyeonggi, announced on the 16th that the "2025 Republic of Korea Forest Expo" will be held at Gonjiam Pottery Park from the 18th to the 21st.
This is the largest forest expo in the nation, and it is the first time in 16 years since the event was held in Ansan in 2009.
The event will commence on the 18th with a memorial ceremony for "Mountain Day," which doubles as the opening ceremony, and will feature a variety of programs over four days, including theme exhibition halls, corporate and promotional pavilions, forest product sales halls, exhibitions and experiences, seminars, performances, and related events.
The province will introduce forest policies through the theme exhibition hall, centered around the Forest Greenery Division and the Forest Environment Research Institute, and will also conduct tree planting experiences, tree-sharing events, and operate promotional booths for forest research achievements.
Additionally, the Freshwater Fish Exhibition Hall of the Gyeonggi Marine Fisheries Resources Research Institute and the promotional booth of the Gyeonggi Environmental Energy Promotion Agency will be operated.
Cha Sung-su, Director of the Climate, Environment, and Energy Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The expo is an opportunity to share the value of forests with the residents and envision a sustainable future for forests."
