Mykola Mysnyk, an organic farmer in the Cherkasy region, has seen significant improvements in soil quality after five years of organic farming. Research by the Soil Institute has shown an increase in phosphorus, potassium, nitrogen, and humus levels in the enriched soil. The farm, which avoids mineral fertilizers, pesticides, and antibiotics, has also increased the fertility of the land, as indicated by increased acidity and nutrient levels. The European Union aims to increase its organic farming area to 25% by 2030, while in Ukraine, it currently accounts for 1% of agricultural land.
