The Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT) is voicing its opinions on the virtual trial of Direct Action of Unconstitutionality (ADI) No. 7,774, which challenges Law No. 12,709/2024. This law, set to take effect on January 1, 2025, grants tax incentives to companies with a negative economic and social impact on Mato Grosso municipalities. The law also reduces incentives for signatories of the soy moratorium, a move that Aprosoja MT believes could lead to significant socioeconomic losses for producers and the state's economy. The Federal Supreme Court (STF) has scheduled the trial to take place between February 14 and 21, and Aprosoja MT plans to join the lawsuit as amicus curiae to provide additional information and technical arguments.
