A joint operation by the Spanish Civil Guard, Europol, and the Italian Carabinieri has led to the seizure of 120,000 cans of adulterated Plaza Chica tuna and 45,000 liters of low-quality olive oil. The products, intended for small businesses and large food chains in Spain and Italy, were found to be relabeled in unsanitary conditions with falsified expiry dates and health certificates. Additionally, the company used lower quality raw materials than indicated on the labels. Out of 40 samples that should have contained olive oil, 33 were found to contain sunflower oil or low-quality pomace oil. Four people were arrested in the operation.
