The Spanish dairy sector is very aware of its sales to China, a market in which it invoices 91 million euros a year, after the Asian giant has confirmed an anti-subsidy investigation against certain imports of dairy products from the European Union (EU). The measure will affect the sale of milk and, especially, cream (almost 54 million) from Spain and will have a direct impact on Galicia, which is the main exporter to the Asian country. According to analysts, this is an already anticipated response to the tariffs imposed by Brussels on Chinese electric vehicles. The Chinese government has announced that it will review dairy products such as fresh cheese, curd or cream, and the effects of the subsidy programs for the dairy industry in Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Croatia, Finland, Romania and the Czech Republic.
