The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry in Moldova has reported that the country's fruits have been successful in the EU market due to the EU's decision to suspend taxes and quotas on imports of certain products from Moldova. In 2023, Moldova could potentially supply tomatoes, garlic, apples, cherries, plums, grapes, and grape juice to the European market. The liberalization of plums and grapes exports to the EU in the 2023 harvest has led to significant benefits for Moldovan gardeners and export traders, with plum exports almost three times greater than the previous annual European quota.
