Thailand's Sugar Factory has commenced production for the 2022/23 season on December 1, following the Cane and Sugar Board's decision to open all 57 mills. However, the start has been challenged by heavy rains, leading to delays and difficulties in sugarcane harvesting. This has caused issues for farmers and has potentially damaged sugar stocks and export plans. The opening of cane crushing has been pushed back by 2-3 weeks, particularly affecting fields in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Pranburi.
