The first shipments of grain from the transshipment complex (TC) in the port of Olya's waters in the Caspian Sea will begin shortly, said the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Energy of the Astrakhan region, Vitaly Shchepin.
An agreement on the creation of the TC in the port of Olya's waters in the Astrakhan region was concluded by the government of the Astrakhan region and OOO Astra in June of this year at the PMEF, reports Reuters.
"The equipment of the company Astra, necessary for the implementation of the project to create the transshipment complex, has already arrived in Astrakhan and is ready for operation. The first shipments are planned to begin shortly," he said at the Astrakhan International Forum MTK North-South.
The project is being implemented as part of the creation of the Caspian Cluster in the Astrakhan region, where it is planned to build a container terminal, a terminal for transshipment of grain and vegetable oil, as well as a logistics refrigeration terminal for the transportation of vegetables and fruits in the Port Special Economic Zone.
