The "Almond Gardens" nursery in Kirovohrad region received the first harvest of Spanish almond varieties just two years after planting. Experts confirmed the high quality and productivity of the Penta and Makako varieties in Ukrainian conditions. This was reported by the President of the Ukrainian Nut Association, G. Yudin. The seedlings of the Spanish varieties, planted in April 2023 in the "Almond Gardens" nursery near Svitlovodsk, yielded their first harvest in September 2025. The actual yield figures exceeded the expectations of the experts. The Penta variety showed the following characteristics: very late flowering, self-pollination, virtually no dependence on bees for pollination, hard shell, early maturity. The weight of the fruit was 3.22 g, the weight of the kernel was 1.12 g, the kernel yield was 35%. There were no double kernels.
