In January 2023, Vietnam experienced a significant decrease in the import of meat and meat products, with volumes dropping by 45.7% and values by 45.4% compared to the previous month, and by 34% in volume and 35% in value compared to January 2022. The United States emerged as the largest supplier, despite a decrease in exports, and buffalo meat imports saw an increase. The average import price for meat and meat products reached $2,092/ton, with pork imports primarily from Russia, Brazil, and Germany, but volumes from these countries also decreased compared to the same period in 2022.
