The United States was the main destination for Peruvian onion shipments between January and August 2025, with a demand of $19,029,000, representing 36.6% of the total. This product reached a total of 22 countries, reported the Agroexport Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX). Other markets included Colombia ($12,900,000), Spain ($11,530,000), Bolivia ($2,417,000), Costa Rica ($2,211,000), the Dominican Republic ($1,344,000), and, in smaller amounts, Haiti, Chile, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Nicaragua, among others. In the eight months analyzed, total shipments of this vegetable abroad amounted to $51,943,000, a figure indicating a contraction of -16% compared to the same period in 2024 ($61,792,000), partly due to lower orders from the U.S. The main export presentation was fresh or refrigerated ($51,260,000), showing a decrease of -15.5%.
