The United States and India announced on Friday, 6, that they have reached a framework for an interim agreement on reciprocal trade, reaffirming the recent commitment between leaders Donald Trump and Narendra Modi. The main terms of the agreement include, according to the White House, India's elimination of tariffs on all U.S. industrial goods and a wide range of food and agricultural products, including dried distillers grains, red sorghum for animal feed, nuts, fresh and processed fruits, soybean oil, wines, and spirits. The U.S. will apply a reciprocal tariff of 18% (down from 25% previously) on goods originating from India and will remove the tariff on a wide range of goods, including generic pharmaceuticals, gems and diamonds, and aircraft parts.
