The war only complicates the already difficult relations between Ukraine and China

This was stated by the General Director of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) Pavlo Koval in a comment to Delo.ua. He noted that before the Great War, China was traditionally the largest buyer of Ukrainian corn and barley, supplies in 2020-2021 reached 8 million tons and 3 million tons, respectively. In the first year of the Russian invasion, the export of corn fell almost twice, and barley - tenfold. In 2023-2024, it is restored, but the situation is complicated by strict state regulation and constant revision of the permitted import volumes of one or another product. In addition, China has stricter requirements for imported agricultural products compared to other markets in the region.
