Turkey has imposed a temporary ban on wheat imports from June 21 to October 15, affecting its fifth largest grain trader, but the Russian Ministry of Agriculture does not expect the ban to impact Russian exporters negatively. The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has imposed the ban to support local agricultural producers, leading to concerns about a potential decrease in world wheat prices and a slowdown in the Russian grain market. Despite this, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture does not foresee a need to reduce export duties, attributing the resilience of the Russian grain market to the growth of the domestic market and the strengthening of the ruble.
