There is no Ukrainian garlic in Ukraine and there will not be. This opinion was expressed by Andrii Marushchak, commercial director of "Van Dijk Technics" in an interview with Seeds. According to him, this is not at all due to weather – Ukraine has a critically small number of professional garlic growers. They can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Similarly, storage capacities for professional garlic storage can be counted on the fingers of one hand. "Currently, we are launching a storage system for garlic that will be harvested around the beginning of July. In Ukraine, everyone grows winter garlic. Ukrainians will continue to eat Chinese garlic for a long time, although we have many good varieties, but Ukraine lacks sufficient seed material.
