The Mexican Chamber of Deputies has expressed concern over the Federal Government's decision to import Argentine beef without consulting stakeholders. Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal has suggested that Mexican farmers may seek judicial protection to halt these purchases, citing potential risks to animal health. However, Juan Carlos Anaya from the Grupo Consultor de Mercados Agrícolas (GCMA) believes that these imports will not reduce meat prices due to high transportation costs. The GCMA also asserts that the meat is safe to import, as it comes from foot-and-mouth disease-free areas, a claim supported by Argentina's National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality.
