The Sustainability and Climate Change Agency (ASCC) and the Association of Olive Oil Producers (ChileOliva) have signed a new Clean Production Agreement (APL) to combat climate change and promote sustainable practices in the olive oil industry. The agreement aims to address challenges such as water scarcity, frost, forest fires, and changes in weather patterns through the adoption of regenerative agriculture and the efficient use of natural resources. It also focuses on measuring and reducing carbon footprints, strengthening biodiversity, and reinforcing the efficient management of energy and water. The public-private collaboration will provide training and workshops to improve climate change adaptation, carbon neutrality, and regenerative agriculture practices among workers, with the ultimate goal of carbon neutrality and improving sustainability management in the industry.
