This follows the confirmation of a highly pathogenic case in a laying hen farm in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, just one day after the detection of H5 type AI antigen. The Central AI Response Headquarters (Head: Song Mi-ryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) announced on the 15th that the H5 type AI antigen detected in the Pyeongtaek laying hen farm the previous day (14th) was finally confirmed as H5N1 type highly pathogenic.
