Hungary: Tightening and new regulations in the domestic dairy industry

Fluctuations in the milk production sector are significant because, due to Hungary's size, it only follows the processes of the European milk market. The Ministry of Agriculture tries to provide assistance to actors in the dairy industry on the regulatory, control and support side. Last year, the 2023-2027 KAP (Common Agricultural Policy) Strategic Plan was adopted, in which about two-thirds of the support tied to production is related to animal husbandry. The goal is to make the support period predictable and planable for farmers. We are examining the possibility of supporting those branches of the food industry for the next KAP calls, which typically process domestic raw materials, and the supply chain approach, thinking together and integration play an important role in their activities, said Dr. Beáta Olga Felkai.
