A prohibition on fishing at Nangbéto Lake in Togo will be in effect from August 15 to November 15, 2022, as part of the lake's biological rest program. This initiative is designed to encourage the reproduction of fish and is a component of sustainable fishing management practices. Any violations, such as fishing, transporting, or selling products from the lake during the prohibition period, will be punished in accordance with the law. The lake is also used for aquaculture, with a significant investment in the Aquaculture Development Project of Togo (PDAT), which has produced nearly 30 tons of tilapia for the local market since its inception.
