Over the past two weeks, the average wholesale price for a red round tomato in Uzbekistan has increased by 40%, and for a pink tomato - by almost 60%. Moreover, wholesale prices are already 20-40% higher than last year's levels. As you can see in the chart below, the dynamics of tomato price growth for this period of the year in Uzbekistan is more rapid than usual. According to EastFruit price monitoring, from October 25 to November 4, 2022, the average wholesale price for a red round tomato in Uzbekistan increased from 10,000 to 14,000 sum/kg (from $0.90 to $1.26). During the same period, the average wholesale price for a pink tomato rose from 12,000 to 19,000 sum/kg (from $1.08 to $1.71), i.e. by 58% in two weeks.
