The Center for Economic Research in Agriculture (CAPA) forecasts a 7% decrease in Poland's tomato production, resulting in a total of 108,000 tonnes. Pepper production is projected to increase by 4% to 59,000 tonnes, while cucumber production is expected to decrease by 12% to 47,000 tonnes. The processing of these vegetables is not expected to significantly change. The import of these vegetables is predicted to decrease in the future. Due to inflation and reduced income, the consumption of canned vegetables, especially home-made ones, is rising. Prices for these vegetables have seen fluctuations in the third quarter of 2022. Overall, retail prices for tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers are expected to rise by 22% in 2022, mirroring the food inflation rate.
