Tomatoes grown in Turkey's Kozaklı district of Nevşehir using geothermal water are being exported to Europe, especially the Netherlands. The geothermal water, heated to 90 degrees, is used to warm buildings and greenhouses, reducing energy costs. The district produces around 15,000 tons of tomatoes annually, with half being exported to the Netherlands and the rest sold domestically and in other European countries. The district plans to expand greenhouse areas to 600,000 square meters, providing employment for 350 families, predominantly women.
