Tunisia is set to achieve a record in olive oil exports with a projected 340,000 tons in the 2019/20 crop year, valued at over $730 million, as reported by the National Olive Oil Board (ONH). This figures about 4.25% of the country's budget revenue. The surge in exports is largely due to lockdowns in Europe and a good crop yield, with 20,000 tons of packaged olive oil expected to reach 25,000 tons this season. The majority of these exports, around 80%, are to the European Union, but Tunisia has also increased its presence in the United States, Canada, India, and China.
