The Mediterranean Exporters' Association reports a 15% increase in Turkey's citrus exports in the first nine months of this year, reaching 840,216 tons with a value of $427.29 million, up from the same period last year. Lemon was the best-selling citrus fruit, with exports valued at $184.3 million, a 48% increase, followed by tangerines, grapefruits, and oranges. The main importers of Turkish citrus were Russia, Iraq, and Ukraine. Syria experienced the highest increase in imports, with a 528% rise compared to the previous year. Kemal Kaçmaz, President of the National Citrus Council, stated that Turkey is aiming to enter new markets and improve its export efficiency to distant countries.
