Turkish salmon exports have seen a significant increase in the first nine months of 2023, with the export value reaching $351 million and the quantity increasing by 13 percent to 57,675 tons, compared to the same period last year. The majority of these exports were to Russia, which saw a 23 percent increase in both quantity and value compared to the previous year. Other countries like the Philippines, Egypt, Oman, Slovenia, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, and Serbia also imported Turkish salmon. The Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association is optimistic about the potential of the Chinese market and is planning to promote Turkish salmon there. The association is also hopeful for increased exports to Japan with the anticipated implementation of a free trade agreement and the removal of Japan's 3.5 percent customs duty on Turkish goods.
