According to information from the Samsun Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, there are a total of 40 aquaculture facilities with cultivation certificates in Samsun. A significant portion of these facilities operate in the Havza Dereköy Pond, Boyabat and Derbent Dam Lakes, and offshore Yakakent in the Black Sea. Samsun's total aquaculture capacity has reached 32,869 tons annually. Of this capacity, 14,194 tons consist of Turkish salmon and sea bass, while 9,675 tons are trout production.
