Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has proposed increasing the volume of grain supplies from Russia for processing and export of flour to African countries in need. He believes that the previously agreed upon one million tons is not enough and has raised the issue with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Erdogan also hopes to resume the old grain deal and suggests that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres develop new compromise proposals, including the resumption of insurance for Russian ships and reconnection of Russian banks to international systems.
