Ukraine has been at war with Russia for three and a half years, even though both countries play an important role in global food security. Before the Russian-Ukrainian war broke out in February 2022, our northeastern neighbor was a kind of pantry for Europe. Its agriculture played an important role on a global scale, as it exported a lot of grain to Africa and Asia. But what has happened to all of this in the past three and a half years? Well, the amount of grain harvested during the war has decreased by "only" a quarter, so it is clear what potential lies in the Ukrainian agricultural sector. It is no coincidence that Hungarian farmers are also wary of this serious competitor.
