The USDA predicts a significant increase in Turkey's peach and nectarine production for the 2024-2025 season, with an 11% rise to a record 1.2 million tons due to favorable conditions and advancements in farming. This includes a nearly doubling of nectarine production in the last five years because of increased demand. Domestic consumption and exports of these fruits are also expected to rise, with nectarines finding popularity in their freshness and health benefits. The southern coastal province of Mersin is a major contributor to this production, thanks to its favorable growing conditions and logistical advantages for export.
