Organic products, including turmeric, ginger, and mango, are experiencing significant growth in agro-export markets, with Europe and the United States leading the demand due to their health and environmental benefits. Despite organic bananas being the top export in volume and value, organic ginger and mango have seen notable growth of 19% and 8% in value respectively until July 2021. Peruvian organizations are also making headway in organic coffee and cocoa markets, particularly in South Korea. The high value of organics is attributed to the costly certification processes required by major markets. In the first half of 2021, over US $150 million worth of organic products were exported, and Peru registered a 41.9% increase in organic farming, with 107,003 producers having organic certification in 2020.
