Peruvian agro-exporters are introducing new organic fruits and vegetables, including jojoba and maca, to meet the global demand for organic food. In 2020, organic jojoba, primarily used in cosmetic products, was exported only to Spain, generating revenue of $13,484. On the other hand, organic maca, which accounts for 68% of total maca exports, was exported to several countries, including the US, UK, Germany, Netherlands, and Australia, with sales exceeding $10 million in 2020. The interest in organic foods has surged during the pandemic, with ginger, coffee, avocado, and mango experiencing the highest growth rates in exports last year.
