Australian Grain Technologies (AGT), the largest national breeding company for wheat, barley, and rapeseed, has developed two new varieties of lupine crops that are adapted to various growing conditions and exhibit high and consistent yields. The varieties, named Gigi and Rosemont, yield up to 16% more than the traditional old variety grown in Australia. Lupins play a crucial role in supplying soil with nitrogen and performing well in the sandy soils of Western Australia's wheat belt, making the release of these new varieties important for the country's agriculture sector.
