In 2023, Ukraine saw a decrease in hazelnut imports from 1.5 thousand tons in 2021 to 950 tons, while exports were at 55 tons. This reduction is due to increased local production and decreased consumption as a result of emigration. Despite the growth in local production, Ukraine continues to be a net importer of hazelnuts. The country also experienced a decline in walnut exports due to increased competition and a lack of high-quality products.
