According to him, this result was promoted by the increase in the sale prices of this type of agricultural products in the world market last year. “Although in 2020 Ukraine exported 4 thousand tons of grain seeds less than in 2019 - only 12.5 thousand tons, as a result of increased demand and sales prices, we managed to achieve record foreign exchange earnings,” the scientist noted. In the structure of Ukrainian exports of seeds of grain and oilseeds, maize traditionally dominates. In 2020, sales of seed corn on the world market increased by 65% against the previous year and amounted to 7,884 tons worth $ 13.4 million.
