Ukraine is planning to shift its sown areas towards oilseed crops, including sunflower, soybean, and rapeseed, as they fetch a higher price despite having a lower yield, says Taras Vysotskyi, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The country expects to see an increase in the cultivation of these crops, despite a predicted decrease in the physical harvest. Ukraine's international market ready to absorb larger volumes of oilseed crops, making the logistics more profitable for farmers. This shift is expected to bring positive results for both oilseed and grain crops, including winter wheat, due to improved logistics and higher prices.
