A new potato starch production line in Ukraine is expected to set a record due to the displacement of potatoes from the market following the occupation of several regions by Russian aggression. The conflict has damaged starch production facilities, leading to the processing of unsuitable potatoes for human consumption. Factories have resumed operations, resulting in a significant stockpile of raw materials and a preliminary forecast of 24 thousand tons of starch for the 2022 season, which is already double the internal demand. By the end of August, the stockpile could reach nearly 50 thousand tons.
