Ukraine’s 2024 grain harvest is at 13.8 million metric tons so far, ministry says

Ukraine has successfully harvested 13.8 million metric tons of grains, including 10.3 million tons of wheat, 3.1 million tons of barley, and 319,300 tons of beans, as reported by the farm ministry. The ministry is optimistic about the 2024 grain harvest, revising the forecast to 56 million tons from 52.4 million, with the potential for a total crop of 77 million tons when including oilseeds. However, the optimism is slightly dampened by concerns over a possible 20-30% decrease in the harvest of late crops in central, southern, and eastern regions due to extreme heat, with up to 50% of the overall area under these crops being potentially impacted by drought.
