As of April 18, 2025, farmers in Ukraine have successfully sown a total of 1,247.2 thousand hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, with the largest cultivation being barley at 656.2 thousand hectares. Other crops such as spring wheat, peas, oats, corn, sunflowers, sugar beets, and soybeans are also being planted. The Odesa region leads in sowing rates, followed by Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, and Ternopil regions. The total sowing area for 2025 is planned to be around 5.7 million hectares, consistent with 2024 levels, but with a notable increase in the cultivation of spring wheat.
