Due to decreased demand for meat as a result of war, Ukraine has shifted from being an importer of turkey meat to an exporter, especially to countries like Moldova, Benin, and Azerbaijan, which saw a 100% increase in deliveries in 2022. The country's production of turkey meat has been steadily increasing by approximately 10-12% annually since 2017, leading to a decreased reliance on imported meat, particularly from Poland. In response, Polish farmers have resumed protests on the border with Ukraine and threaten to renew protests in Medyka.
