From late September, over 20 days of continuous rain and cloudy weather have caused poor apple coloration in Goesan, North Chungcheong, and poor growth of scallions in Jangheung, South Jeolla. Damage to major crops such as rice and napa cabbage is also increasing, deepening the farmers' worries. Annual recurring climate disasters are no longer exceptional events but have become a daily risk. At this point, the most urgent task is the systematic establishment of agricultural policies to respond to climate change. As agricultural damage from climate change accumulates, the production base weakens, and the food self-sufficiency rate, which is already below 50%, can only decrease further.
