In October, Uruguay saw a 2.6 thousand ton increase in its fresh beef exports, totaling 28,559 tons at an average value of US$/t 6,330. This marks the highest average value since September 2022. The exports were dominated by 25,368 tons of frozen meat, with the United States being the main importer of boneless frozen meat. Additionally, 4,364 tons of frozen bone-in meat was exported to China. Uruguay is also targeting the Canadian 2025 quota as a potential new market for its frozen products.
