Uruguay has experienced a significant increase in its agricultural exports, primarily driven by a recovery in soybean exports and a growth in cellulose exports. Eight of its top ten export items saw a double-digit increase between January and July of this year, compared to the same period in 2023. Soybean exports brought in US$176 million, a six-fold increase from 2023, and pulp sales reached US$194 million, up by 31% from the previous year. Pulp was the country's primary export product, surpassing beef, which saw a 5% increase to US$151 million in July. Overall, pulp exports rose by 28% to US$1,355 million, while beef exports increased by 1% to US$1,145 million compared to the same period in 2023.
