In the first two months of 2022, Paraguay experienced a dramatic decrease in pork exports to Uruguay, with a total volume of 125 tons valued at USD 198,627, marking an 86% reduction in volume and an 87% reduction in value compared to the same period in 2021. This downturn is largely attributed to a global surplus of pork, as highlighted by the absence of exports in January 2022. The exports in February made up for the entirety of the pork products shipped in that month. The exports consisted of 25 tons of pork, 65 tons of pork offal, and 35 tons of pig offal, with a total value of USD 218,607.
