Uruguay's export requests, including free zones, totaled US $ 690 million, which implies an increase of 17.6% in interannual terms, while in the accumulated of the first two months of the year, exports totaled US $ 1,345 million, almost 15% above what was exported in January-February 2020. The increase in exports is explained by the increase in sales of meat by-products, wheat, dairy products, wood, cellulose, margarine and oils, other foods and vehicles, while rice, fish and seafood, energy and beverage concentrate had a negative impact compared to last year. When analyzing exports by destination, it is observed that China was the main export market, standing at US $ 122 million - 79% higher than February 2020 - representing 25% of total exports of goods. This increase is explained by the higher placements of bovine meat –mainly frozen meat-, reaching US $ 67 million in February 2021 compared to US $ 46 million in February 2020.
