The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) predicts a slight increase of 1.5% in California's almond production this season, reaching 1.179 million tons, the third-highest production in history. However, exports are expected to decrease by around 3% to 4%, and almond prices are currently at historically low levels. The report also highlights that China's retaliatory tariffs have caused a decline in the US market share of imported almonds, with exports to China decreasing by 40% compared to the previous year.
