In February, US beef exports to Korea experienced a 7% decrease in volume, totaling 18,074 metric tons, while the export value rose by 12% to $172.3 million, according to USDA and USMEF data. This trend of reduced volume but increased value, which began in January, continued into February, with a total volume decrease of 4% to 36,863 metric tons and a value increase of 12% to $342.8 million. Despite the challenges posed by rising food prices affecting Korea's foodservice sector's recovery, US beef has found success in the home and restaurant meal replacement markets, aided by Korean government initiatives to control food price inflation.
