US exports falling

US export sales of corn, wheat and soybeans fell in the seven days ending October 26, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) said in a report. Corn sales to foreign buyers fell to 748,100 tons, down 45% from the previous week and 40% from the average of the previous four weeks, the agency said. Mexico was the biggest buyer with 434,300 tons, followed by an unidentified country with 110,500 tons and Japan with 70,200 tons. Colombia purchased 61.4 thousand tons and Honduras purchased 25.9 thousand tons. Exports for the week increased 5% to 505,900 tonnes, the government said. Wheat sales were 275,600 tons, a drop of 24% in the weekly comparison and 43% in relation to the average. Thailand received 57,000 tons, Italy got 31,500 tons, the Philippines bought 25,000 tons and Mexico bought 23,600 tons, the USDA said. Exports fell to a marketing year low of 100,500 metric tons.
